Postural Orthotherapy
Your orthotherapist will first fill out a health questionnaire with you to understand the issues that motivate your consultation. Afterwards, he will check the condition of the muscles and the mobility of the painful joint.
An orthotherapy treatment always starts with a deep Swedish massage. Depending on the painful segment and the effect sought by the orthotherapist, the massage can be superficial or deep into muscles, tendons and ligaments.
The orthotherapist will then proceed to the mobilizations. These are gentle and slow movements performed on a limb or joint in order to restore mobility. They can be passive (you let yourself be manipulated), active (you perform the movement yourself) or resisted (the therapist opposes resistance to your movement). The mobilizations always remain within the comfort zone (below the pain threshold) and normal amplitude of the articulation.
At the end of the session, the orthotherapist will recommend exercises in order to increase the speed of recovery and avoid a relapse. Finally, if necessary, the orthotherapist will recommend various home care that may include thermotherapy, herbal medicine and aromatherapy.
Respiratory Orthotherapy
The diaphragm is the main muscle of breathing. Poor stress management, poor posture or mechanical dysfunction in the chest, among other things, can cause the chest to lock up in the lower position. This tension creates a feeling of tightness in the chest and fatigue. In the longer term, this can lead to: backaches, digestive problems, or/and a feeling of heavy legs or headaches as well as widespread muscle pain.
The release or stretching of the diaphragm also called Myo-Respiratory Massage restores flexibility to this muscle to allow adequate breathing and overcome these problems.
Once released from its tensions, the diaphragm can begin to work harmoniously and allow the body to regain its maximum lung capacity.
Healthy breathing can relax the nervous system, improve sleep, reduce the effects of stress and allow better concentration. The release of the diaphragm also helps to find better posture and improve digestion.
Myo-Respiratory massage is also part of the Anti-Stress treatment protocol for its beneficial effects on muscle and mental relaxation.
